| Commanders Message Fellow Sons and Legionnaires - My name is Michael Jonucz, (pronounced Jonas). I am honored, as a dual member of Post 434 in Chula Vista, to be the newly elected Detachment Commander of the Sons of the American Legion for the great state of California. It is my intention to make this a productive and challenging year as we have an excellent skilled team of professionals with many new faces and ideas. My Detachment goals are to improve our participation and overall numbers in all of the American Legion Family Programs. One of our goals this year that are important to me personally is to increasing our CWF contributions by 15%. Our second goal is to start as many new SONS Squadrons as possible. I know there are many Posts through out the State that do not have a SONS program. Our Area Vice Commanders, in conjunction with our District Commanders, will be searching to find various Posts that are interested in starting up a new squadron and to help us accomplish this important SONS program. I am excited and looking forward to the coming year working together with Department Commander Mark Foxworthy, Auxiliary President Pilar Reyes and Legion Rider President Luis Dias and the rest of the dedicated American Legion family. Thank you for your warm welcome at the Convention, God Bless you all and God Bless The American Legion. | |
