Los Angeles Veterans News
- The same week that the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, or VA, announced that it had surpassed its goal of housing 38,000 homeless veterans in 2022 — an effort spearheaded in Los Angeles, where most homeless veterans live — Rand Co. released a private study suggesting that government and volunteer entities may be undercounting homeless populations in some areas of Los Angeles. The study supports anecdotal accounts that there may be flaws in counting the number of homeless veterans in Los Angeles County and elsewhere.
Riverside County Veterans News
- In a ceremony held on Jan. 28, the Gold Star Family Monument was dedicated at the Riverside National Cemetery. The project first broke ground in June 2021 and was organized by Gold Star Wives of the Inland Empire. The memorial honors service members who have fallen in the line of duty as well as the families they leave behind.

- Per the San Diego Union-Tribune, the San Diego Board of Supervisors is expanding the 2019 Community Care Coordination for Veterans plan to include jailed veterans and veterans who have recently been released from jail with a variety of resources aimed at establishing financial independence.
