- According to the New Times San Luis Obispo, the Tee It Up for Veterans golf classic raised over $90,000 for local veterans and active military returning home from deployments. The annual event is primarily organized by Band of Brothers in Santa Maria and Welcome Home in San Luis Obispo.

- 102-year-old WWII veteran Eugene Cleveland was awarded the French Legion of Honor, France’s highest military honor, for his service during the European Theater.
