Operation Freedom Paws: Four Paws, Two Feet, One Team

This article was written by Pam MacDougall, Operation Freedom Paws Director of Marketing.

Operation Freedom Paws is a 501(c)(3) non-profit located in San Martin, California. We create lifesaving service dog teams that empower veterans and other individuals with disabilities at no cost to them. To date, we’ve been honored to work with over 500 individuals and their family members.

We’re excited to announce that our client, Army Veteran Ramon Reyes and his service dog Huey, are 1 of only 5 national finalists for the Purina “Visible Impact Award.”

The award recognizes the vital role service dogs play in the lives of veterans suffering with PTSD.

Ramon is an incredible man who served his country for over a decade and now serves his fellow veterans as a mentor-trainer in our program. The winner of the “Visible Impact Award” will personally receive 10K and their service dog organization 25K, which would enable us to fully fund another team in our program. There is only one vote allowed per email throughout the competition, so it’s crucial for us to reach as much of our larger veteran community as possible.
