“These Cards Are Great!”

National Commander Oxford said, “These cards are great!”

By Rick Pushies

During his visit to the Department of California in December we gave National Commander Oxford some green business cards. He said, “These cards are great!” He also had a great big smile on his face because they really are great.

What are these cards and why are they great? Let me explain.

What are they?

They are “Post Meeting Cards” for my post. On the front is all thebasic information about our post, where we are located, our phone number, website address and when Post 66  meets.  On the back is space for Legionnaires to put their name and phone number, making it easy for the veteran to contact them if they have any questions about Post 66. When conducting a big recruiting event I print up labels with my contact information and stick them on the back of the card.

By leaving a post meeting card with a potential new member they know who you are, where you are, when you meet and how to contact you if they have a question. Even if you get the veteran to complete an application to join your post and get their dues payment, give the veteran a post meeting card! They will remember you and the critical information about your post location and when you meet.

Why are Post Meeting Cards Great?

The Meeting Cards are great because they are:

We chose green for our meeting card color because we believe Post 66 is where Legion grass roots grow. Having a color card helps them be quickly identified. The card color choice is up to your post.

Meeting cards are a simple tool to help improve you membership recruiting efforts. Try ’em, you’ll like ’em!
