Applications for National American Legion College are due to Department Headquarters no later than July 1st.
The application is available here. Submit materials to adjutant@caLegion.org.
The selection process will begin after July 1st. The first phase will be a review of applications and qualifications by three California Legionnaires. Those Legionnaires will rank the candidates and provide the ranked list to the Department Commander who will recommend two candidates from the list, to National for the November 1-6, 2020 class.
Final acceptance of candidates will be made by The National American Legion College and selected candidates will be notified by National later this summer. All American Legion members in good standing are encouraged to apply.
As a past graduate and past facilitator in this national program, I can tell you it is a unique experience well worth the time and effort.
