Buddy Check toolkit refreshed for continued success
Buddy Check toolkit refreshed

The American Legion’s Buddy Check program heads into its third year with a new and refreshed toolkit and resource guide for posts and members. The 2019-launched effort proved vitally important during the COVID-19 pandemic to assist isolated veterans and their families.

Toolkits that explain the program and offer scripts and other resources for Buddy Check calls have been created for various purposes since the first one appeared in March 2019. Later renditions focused on pandemic assistance and mental health and well-being.

More than 3,600 posts reported conducting Buddy Checks during the 2019-20 membership year.

To view, print or download the new toolkit – released to assist posts and members as they conduct Buddy Checks during the March 15-17 American Legion Birthday week, is available by clicking here. Also available is the toolkit on how to conduct Buddy Checks during the coronavirus pandemic.
