Next week, we get to celebrate our status as veterans of this great republic. I encourage all to celebrate the service of all our brothers and sisters, past and present, on this Nov. 11. Let us take this opportunity to thank Almighty God for allowing us the privilege of having served this great nation.
As we prepare for this momentous day, I would like to take this opportunity to share one of my visions for the Department of California as chaplain. That vision is to become men and women of prayer. Thanks to our great website team, we now have a Share a Prayer page on the website. Please take a moment to visit this new page and leave a prayer in the comments section.
We all could use a little prayer and my prayer is that it be utilized to intercede for our fellow veterans in need and to help our communities to begin the healing process necessary for our nation to once again become “One Nation Under God.”
These times that we live in are exciting and sometimes downright scary, but we all serve a God who loves us and wants only the best for us. All He wants from us is our obedience and our participation. Sometimes we can get so caught up in our worldly ways that we often overlook the blessings that are right before us. Prayer often helps us to regain this focus by putting others needs before our own. As we celebrate Veterans Day this year let us be thankful for what God has done in our lives and the lives of those around us.
Thank you and may God bless you and keep you and may his countenance shine upon you.
