Los Angeles Fire Department inspecting the post’s fire.

The building’s roof of Chappie James Post 578. Cause was deemed to be electrical.
Although the post took a critical hit when the building suffered a fire last year, it did not stop post leaders and members from getting together and making a difference in their community. Post 578 took to the great outdoors and held events benefitting the environment, children and youth, families, and the health of others. Jr. Past Adjutant, Henry Brown, hopes to inspire other posts and to show that anything is possible! The Chappie James Post is well alive and active.
Here are some photos of events they held, while their post went under for repairs:

Post 578 working with city officials to provide free testing for COVID-19 and vaccines.

Members planted trees in their community, partaking in the NFL Green environmental program.
I would like to submit a story about Post 597 and the efforts it took to have Silver Star recipient Dwyane Maxifield Patterson honored by having a portion of SR111 named in his honor.
Hi John,
Give me a call and I’ll help you get your story posted on the website.
