President’s Day Weekend Massing of Colors & Salute to Armed Forces

Sons of the American Revolution Honor George Washington’s Birthday and American Military with Massing of Colors

LOS ANGELES, CA—The Sons of Liberty Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution will honor George Washington’s birthday and the United States Armed Forces with a massing of colors and salute to the armed forces on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at 3:00 PM, at Forest Lawn-Hollywood Hills. For over 30 years, this dazzling event has brought patriotic President’s Day celebrations to the community. This year’s event will feature a large parade of approximately 70 color and honor guard units from local schools, ROTC units, military branches, and historical societies, as well as representatives from all branches of the U.S. Military.

Set amidst the sweeping vistas of Forest Lawn, the early President’s Day event will feature a Warbirds fly-by in the Missing Man formation, as well as artillery and firearm salutes. All branches of the U.S. Military have supported this event in previous years with displays and soldiers, sailors, Marines, and Air Force personnel representing their respective service branches. The Blue Eagles Honor Guard from Edwards Air Force Base is expected to lead the parade and execute ceremonial honors. Color Guards will be uniformed and present a remarkable patriotic image. The entire parade event will last approximately one hour.

This free, non-profit-sponsored outdoor event empowers the youth of the community and recognizes our nation’s military while celebrating the leadership and contributions of General George Washington in time for his birthday and President’s Day.
