Reports and narratives for the Frank N. Belgrano Jr. Trophy are due by August 10.

This award, presented by the American Legion National Americanism Commission since 1936, recognizes departments for their outstanding support of Scouting.

Named in honor of Frank N. Belgrano Jr., Past National Commander (1934-1935) from California, the trophy is awarded based on the number of troops organized, the strength of existing troops, and the overall welfare of the Scout movement under American Legion sponsorship.

Departments must submit written reports with supporting evidence to National Headquarters. The 2022 Americanism By-the-Numbers report revealed that Legion Family chartered 2,099 Scouting units nationwide, involving 36,359 youth and 19,279 adult leaders.

Departments seeking the award should provide a narrative report detailing their efforts and accomplishments. The selection committee values narratives that go beyond mere statistics.

For information on past recipients, refer to the Trophies, Awards, and Ceremonials Manual.
