Helmets for Heroes is a fundraising efforts by The California American Legion Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation (VA&R) Division, which for 80 years has provided critical services for hundreds of thousands of California veterans. Without the American Legion’s expertise, tens of thousands of disabled California Veterans would go without the support they have earned and need. Helmets for Heroes is a fundraising effort started in recent years to help fill the gap in budget shortfalls for The American Legion Department of California’s veteran service officer (VSO) program. Our veteran service officers are certified to help veterans navigate the often confusing bureaucracy of the Department of Veteran Affairs medical and educational benefits process.
