I was in the U.S. Army reserve national guard in California. My unit got activated and was sent to Fort Irvin in the Mojave desert for training. I was a track commander and while maneuvering in the desert a dust storm picked up and blinded us. My APC went over a ravine and crashed. I suffered knee injuries and a concussion. My unit proceeded forward while I stayed in a hospital setting. A week later President Bush stopped the conflict. My unit returned all upset that they didn’t see any action. We were placed in standby.
