Once again, countless musicians will come together for the 5th annual Taps Across America event, sponsored by the nonprofit Taps for Veterans, on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, starting at 3 p.m. (local time).

Annually, Taps Across America is an all-inclusive patriotic event that pays tribute to our nation’s Veterans. All artists, regardless of age or skill level, have the chance to perform live Taps through Taps Across America in remembrance of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

Register for the Taps Across America event on the Taps for Veterans webpage.

On Memorial Day, Americans honor individuals who have lost their lives serving in the U.S. military. Each year at 3:00 p.m. local time, all citizens are asked to pause for one minute in silent remembrance of the men and women who have bravely served in uniform and the ones who gave their lives in defense of our country; this is known as The National Moment of Remembrance. The United States Congress passed legislation establishing The Moment in December 2000 after it was initially declared in May 2000 in honor of Memorial Day of that same year.

Started in 2015 by retired Air Force bugler Jari Villanueva, Taps Across America gained national attention in 2020 when the COVID-19 outbreak forced the cancellation of parades, picnics, and other festivities. The outpouring of support led to over 10,000 musicians participating in a national tribute honoring fallen Service Members.

In keeping with the spirit of Memorial Day, Taps Across America brings the nation together by providing a platform for everyone to Honor, Reflect, and Remember.
