I hope you are following the Family programs from the National BSA HQ.  This weekend is a very special “Camp In” event for all Scouts.

The Boy Scouts of American is offering something a little different and fun.  It’s a “camp in”…yep, you’ll be “camping” at home.  There are several virtual activities taking place…I’m sure you’ll find something fun for the WHOLE family to enjoy.  They will have camping hacks, easy camp-style recipes to try, a virtual 5K (you can donate to Feeding America to help families in need), STEM activities (including a Q & A with Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple, Inc., an opportunity to earn you movie making merit badge (with a behind-the-scenes virtual movie-set tour from Hollywood costume superviesor Jessica Pazdernik and live Q&A with Director/Producer Francis Lawrence, Jessica Pazernik, and Producer Shannon McIntosh), a campsite competition (yes, you can start working on it now!), hear from a NASA astronaut, and participate in a virtual campfire.  It sounds like it’s going to be a fun day and I’d love to see you all online.

Our local American Legion Scouting families have registered for the Virtual 5K and will be posting on social media to spread the word (per their request…remember, they are trying to raise money for Feeding America).

They asked that you include #CampIn #GoodTurn5K #ScoutingAtHome in your posts.  And please post before, during and after to raise awareness.  There is an opportunity to donate and 100% of your donation (of whatever amount you choose) goes directly to Feeding America.  You do not have to be in scouting to donate and/or participate.  Scouts can choose what to wear during the 5K to represent scouting…I’d recommend our Class B, so we can be united – even though we will be apart.

Here is the link to their website with all the information…https://www.scouting.org/campin/virtual-5k/#

I hope to see you all online!

Yours in Service to God and Country
