Kermit Jones MD JD, is a primary care physician and lawyer in Northern California, and is a member of the California bar. Prior to Dr. Jones serving the Northern California community, he served at the highest level of government as a White House Fellow in the Obama administration (2012-13) in the immediate office of Secretary Sebelius. There he focused on working with Department of Defense counterparts and college administrators to help U.S. service members transition into after-military medical jobs. After finishing the White House Fellowship he worked as a FDA regulatory and patent attorney at a Washington, D.C. law firm. Dr. Jones is most proud of his military service. He had the honor of serving our military as a Navy casualty evacuation doctor with a Marine Helicopter squadron at Camp Pendleton, CA. There, he helped get injured U.S. service members safely home, and was the squadron medical officer during the transition of authority of Al Anbar Province Iraq in 2008. Kermit grew up on a small farm in Southwest Michigan, and learned how to tend to cows, hogs, chickens and grow blueberries before he was ten years old. After he left Michigan, he earned his medical and law degrees from Duke University in 2005. He has a bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech and a Chemistry Degree from Clark Atlanta University. Kermit has written articles and given lectures on domestic and foreign healthcare policy as well as our need to transition to a proactive healthcare system that uses technology to give patients more control of their health and better outcomes.
