The need for blood is no laughing matter. Donating blood, however is being paired with comedy at Hollywood Post 43, on Sunday, June 14th. Jennifer Brofer, the Post 43 Blood Drive Coordinator, designed this blood drive with comedy, rewarding blood givers with laughs to go along with the needles. The performers are all professional comedians who usually keep their audience in stitches…proverbial stitches.

The previous blood drive produced 56 pints of life giving whole blood, according to Brofer. Like this one, the previous blood drive adhered to all pandemic rules including masks, distancing, and checking temperatures at various stages of the process. The UCLA Blood and Platelet Center, the blood donation partner for these drives, takes these steps very seriously.
