Veterans have a significant effect on the U.S. economy. Because of their leadership training and focus on mission, veterans are 45% more likely to be self-employed. According to the U.S. Small Business Administration, 1 out of every 10 veterans — or 2.4 million — runs their own business and veteran-owned businesses employ 5.8 million people across the country.
