With Veterans Day on the horizon, California American Legion is compiling a list of discounts, freebies, and coupons California Veterans can take advantage of this year. All the listings below have been confirmed and we will update this list as new deals are announced. Be sure to check back!
Note: this list only includes Veterans Day-specific discounts; we won’t be including year-round military and Veterans discounts. We recommend verifying discounts or deals prior to any purchases, as some locations belonging to the brands below may not be participating.
CALIFORNIA FOOD AND DRINK DISCOUNTS ON VETERANS DAY
Veterans and active-duty military can receive a free coffee or Big Gulp with 7Rewards. 7-Eleven stores are independently owned, so please check with your local store to confirm participation.
Across the United States, Applebee’s locations will be offering Veterans Day deals and promotions for active-duty military and Veterans who dine-in at the restaurant. They will receive a complimentary meal from a select menu at participating locations.
Veterans with a valid military ID can receive a free Chocolate Chunk Pizookie with no minimum purchase, dine-in only on November 11. They will also receive a reward coupon for dine-in or takeout, redeemable between November 12 and December 31.
Black Angus Steakhouse
Current and former military members with ID can receive 15% off, available for dine-in only.
On November 11, Veterans with valid ID can get 20% off when they dine-in.
Buffalo’s Cafe
On November 11, Veterans and active-duty military receive 25% off their meal. This offer is available for dine-in only at participating locations and requires either a military ID or uniform as proof.
Buffalo Wild Wings
Veterans and active-duty service members can receive a free order of 10 boneless wings and fries on November 11 with a valid ID. This offer is for dine-in only.
Veterans and active-duty military members can receive a complimentary meal from a select menu on November 11 and a BOGO coupon for a pizza, pasta, or salad of equal or lesser value, redeemable from November 12 to November 25 at participating locations.
Veterans and active-duty service members with ID can get a free meal from a select menu on November 11, available for in-restaurant dining only.
Circle K
On November 11, Circle K offers a free medium coffee through the Circle K app to thank Veterans and active-duty military personnel. To redeem, download the Circle K mobile app and follow the instructions under the Deals tab. Valid at participating stores.
Veterans and active-duty military can enjoy a free dine-in meal from a select menu on November 11.
Cracker Barrel
Veterans can enjoy a slice of Coca-Cola Cake with their meal on Veterans Day.
Dave & Buster’s
Veterans can receive a free entree (up to $20) and a free $10 Power Card with a valid Veterans ID card on November 11.
Denny’s
Veterans and military personnel with valid Military ID or a DD214 can enjoy a free Original Grand Slam on November 11 from 5 a.m. to noon, available for dine-in only with valid Military ID or DD214.
Veterans and active-duty military can receive a free pulled pork sandwich on November 11, valid for in-store, online/app, and carryout orders.
Dunkin’
Veterans and active-duty military can enjoy a free donut of their choice on November 11 at participating locations, available in-store only. One free donut per guest.
Famous Dave’s
Veterans and current military members can receive a free Georgia chopped pork sandwich and a side at participating locations. Proof of service is required, and it is valid for dine-in, To Go, and online orders. Limited to one per guest.
Farmer Boys
Veterans and active-duty military personnel can receive a free big cheeseburger on November 11 at participating locations with proof of service. This offer is valid for dine-in only, requires proof of service, and is limited to one per guest.
On November 11 from 5 pm to close, Golden Corral is hosting Military Appreciation Night, offering a free “thank you” meal when dining in.
Active-duty military and Veterans can enjoy a free Legendary burger on November 11, available for dine-in only with valid ID. Additionally, they can receive 15% off for an entire group.
Hooters
Active-duty military and Veterans can get a free entrée from the Hooters Veterans Day Menu with the purchase of a beverage at participating locations on November 11, available for dine-in only.
Veterans and active-duty military can enjoy free Red, White, & Blueberry Pancake combo on Veterans Day, available for dine-in only at participating restaurants. This offer is limited to one per guest.
In-N-Out Burger
On November 11, Veterans, active-duty military, reservists, and National Guard members can enjoy a complimentary meal at In-N-Out Burger, which includes any burger, fries, and a beverage. Proof of military service is required.
IKEA
Veterans and active-duty military members with a valid ID can get a meal for free in the restaurant.
Juice It Up
Veterans and active-duty service members can receive a free 20oz smoothie on November 11, available in-store only with proof of service.
Johnny Rockets
Veterans and active-duty military can enjoy a free Single Burger with the purchase of any drink or shake on November 11. The offer is available for dine-in only at participating locations and requires either a military ID or uniform as proof.
Krispy Kreme
Veterans and active-duty service members can enjoy a complimentary coffee and doughnut at all locations.
Veterans and active-duty military can receive a free lunch combo at participating stores on November 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., available in-store only.
Luna Grill
Luna Grill offers a 10% discount for all service members and Veterans with valid proof of service. This discount is valid for dine-in and to-go orders placed in restaurant. This offer does not apply to online orders. For orders placed over the phone, the Veteran or service member must present proof of service when picking up the order.
Veterans, National Guard, Gold Star Parents, and Gold Star Spouses can enjoy a select half-priced entrée at participating locations on November 10, as part of Veterans Day. This offer is for dine-in only.
McDonald’s
During breakfast hours on Veterans Day, McDonald’s is offering Veterans a free breakfast combo, which includes a hash brown and a drink, at select locations. Military families with military ID are also eligible.
Melting Pot
On Veterans Day, current and former service members get a free meal with the purchase of a full-priced four-course meal at select locations.
Veterans and active-duty military can get their first 6 oz of frozen yogurt for free on November 11 with valid ID.
MOD Pizza
On November 11, Veterans, active-duty military, and their spouses are eligible to receive a free Mega Cookie.
O’Charley’s
O’Charley’s offers Veterans and active-duty military a free meal on November 11 at participating locations. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m, Veterans can order one free entrée from a select menu or receive a free slice of pie at dinner.
Olive Garden
On November 11, Veterans and active-duty members will receive a free meal from a select menu, including breadsticks and soup or salad.
Active-duty military and Veterans can get a free bloomin’ onion and a Coca-Cola beverage. This offer is valid for dine-in and to-go orders.
Peet’s Coffee
Active-duty military and Veterans can receive a free drip coffee or tea of any size on November 11 at participating locations.
Pilot Flying J
Current and former service members can get a free meal up to $12 at participating locations on November 11 through the myRewards app.
Raising Cane’s
Active and former military members, along with their spouses, can receive 10% off their entire purchase on November 11 by mentioning the Hero Discount Program at the register. A valid ID is required for the discount.
Red Lobster
Veterans, active-duty military, and reservists can get free shrimp and chips with coleslaw or fries on November 11. Guests need to show a valid military ID or proof of service. The offer is for dine-in only.
Veterans and active-duty military can enjoy a complimentary Red’s Big Tavern burger on November 11 with valid ID, available for dine-in only. The free meal also comes with an endless side of steak fries.
Round Table Pizza
From November 8 through 11, Veterans can get 15% off their order. The offer is valid for dine-in, carryout, and delivery.
Sizzler
On November 11 until 4:00 pm, participating locations offer a free lunch to active-duty military and Veterans. Choose between a free half dozen crispy shrimp, Malibu chicken, or 6 oz tri-tip steak entrée.
Smoothie King
Active-duty military and Veterans can get a free 20 oz smoothie at participating locations on November 11 with a valid ID.
SONIC Drive-In
Enjoy half-price shakes of any size and flavor, including Classic and Master Shakes, on November 11.
Starbucks is honoring Veterans, active-duty service members, and military spouses with a free tall (12-ounce) hot or cold drip coffee.
Subway
Veterans and active-duty service members can get a free 6-inch sub or a 10% discount. Check with your local Subway for participation.
At participating locations, active-duty military and Veterans with military ID can dine in or receive a meal voucher on November 11 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. These vouchers are good for dine-in or carry out at a later time until May 2025.
TGIFridays Restaurant and Cocktail Bar
On November 11 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Veterans and active duty military can get a free meal from a select menu.
Active-duty military and Veterans can get a free small breakfast combo on November 11 at participating locations during breakfast hours with valid ID.
Veterans and active-duty military can get a free appetizer on November 11.
RETAIL (CALIFORNIA AND ONLINE)
Ashley Furniture
at participating stores, Veterans and active-duty military can get 10% off their purchase.
From November 11 to 16, military personnel, Veterans, and their spouses receive a 20% discount on all services at AutoNation-branded locations nationwide, as well as through AutoNation Mobile Service at their preferred location.
On November 11, Veterans and active military service members can visit any Great Clips salon and receive a free haircut or a card for a free haircut to be redeemed during a future visit. Non-military customers who get a haircut at a Great Clips salon on November 11 will also receive a free haircut card that can be given to a Veteran or active military service member to thank them for their service. These cards can be redeemed for a free haircut from November 12 through December 1, 2023.
IKEA
From November 10 through 22, Veterans and active military members with a valid ID can enjoy a 15% discount on in-store home furnishings purchases, up to $3000 (pre-tax).
Kohl’s
Active and former military personnel, Veterans, and their families can receive a 30% discount on qualifying in-store purchases Veterans Day weekend. A valid military ID is required.
Office Depot and OfficeMax
Veterans, active-duty and retired military personnel, reservists, and their dependents can receive 25% off qualifying regular and sale-priced purchases in stores nationwide from November 11 through 13. Shoppers must present a valid military ID, military dependent ID, or a form of veteran ID at the time of purchase.
From November 1 through 30, Veterans and active-duty can receive a coupon for 15% off tire and auto repair services at participating locations.
Old Navy
Veterans, active-duty and retired military personnel, reservists, and their dependents with valid ID are eligible for a 10% discount in-store. Not valid with any other discounts or coupons.
On November 11, Regal, in partnership with the Gary Sinise Foundation, is offering free tickets for retired and active U.S. military members to attend screenings of two modern military films, Lonesome Soldier and The Real American, at select locations. Other moviegoers can also join these screenings for $5.
From November 10 to 12, customers with a valid military ID or proof of service are eligible for 15% off regular-priced items at any Rite Aid location. Customers must be members of the Rite Aid Rewards program, and this offer is available for in-store purchases only.
Participating Sport Clips locations provide free haircuts to Veterans and active-duty service members every November 11.
Active-duty, Veteran, retired, and reservist members can get a 10% discount on their entire purchase from November 1 to 11.
Veterans and active-duty service members enrolled in Target Circle will receive a 10%-off coupon to use from October 29 through November 11. The discount can be used on two separate transactions, both online and in-store.
On Veterans Day, military personnel receive a 10% discount on all purchases, including sale items.
Veterans, active-duty service members, military spouses, families, and first responders are eligible for a 40% discount, with additional discounts ranging from 20% to 40% at UA Brand Houses and online, and from 10% to 20% at UA Factory Houses.
Vitamin Shoppe
Veterans and active-duty military personnel can receive a 25% discount on in-store purchases on November 11.
From November 8 through 11, Veterans, active-duty military, and their families can receive a 20% discount on regular-priced eligible store items at any Walgreens or Duane Reade drugstore nationwide.
ENTERTAINMENT
Veterans and active-duty military personnel with valid ID can enjoy free admission on November 11. Reservation is required.
On Veterans Day, select state parks are offering Veterans, active-duty and reserve military personnel with a valid government ID a reduced fee or free day use at participating state parks.
From November 4 to November 21 and from December 2 to December 12, Veterans and active-duty military can purchase discounted tickets for themselves and up to five additional guests.
Eligible military members can enjoy 12% off the Best Available Rate at participating hotels. For a limited time, Wyndham Rewards members receive 1,000 bonus points for one qualified stay booked directly by December 6 and completed by December 31.
Mammoth Mountain
Veterans and active-duty service members will receive a free lift ticket.
On November 11, free admission is offered to all visitors at National Park Service sites that charge an entrance fee.
Queen Mary
On November from 10 am to 6 pm, Veterans, active-duty, and their families can get free admission.
November 9 through Veterans Day, current and former military and up to three family members may enjoy complimentary admission through the Waves of Honor Program. A separated line will be designated at the park entrance.
From November 9 through 12, all Veterans and active-duty personnel with valid ID can receive free park admission, and friends and family of Veterans or active-duty military can enjoy discounted park admission for up to four people.
USS Midway Museum
During the month of November, Veterans can visit the USS Midway Museum for free. Veterans can claim their free tickets at the museum ticket booth located on Navy Pier. Proof of service is required.
Eligible military members can enjoy 15% off the Best Available Rate at participating hotels. For a limited time, Wyndham Rewards members receive 1,000 bonus points for one qualified stay booked directly by December 6 and completed by December 31.
