Veterans Day 2024 is quickly approaching, and Legion Posts across California are hosting events in their communities. Below, we are compiling a list of public Legion-related events being held through Veterans Day. Readers can email news@calegion.org or comment below to submit new events.

Bay Area

American Legion Palo Alto Post 375 will be hosting a joint event with the City of Palo Alto and Stanford University at MacArthur Park to honor local Veterans and unveil repairs to the Memorial Flagpole.

American Legion Post 105, Redwood City is hosting a Veterans Day ceremony at the Old Courthouse Square on Broadway. Accompanying the ceremony: a car show, hot dogs by the Marine Corps League, music, guest speakers, and various Veterans services present.

Greater Sacramento Area

Richard W. Townsend Post 84 is hosting a Veterans Day parade through downtown Auburn, with Cold War Veterans serving as the parade’s grand marshals.

Amador County

Amador Post 108 is leading a parade down Main Street in Jackson and hosting a complementary lunch. The post is also celebrating The American Legion’s 105th birthday.
