Delegate Fees: The American Legion California Boys State Commission held a special virtual meeting this afternoon and based on the recommendation of the Senior Staff voted to lower the 2021 Delegate Fees from $180.00 to $150.00…a reduction of $30.00 per Delegate!!
We hope that this savings will help you with your sponsorship of Delegates. And, if you had been considering not sponsoring Delegates this year, that you will revisit this issue.
Important new information:
a. If you’ve already sent in your Delegate Fees, please contact your District Chairperson for your options regarding the “overpayment.”
b. If you would like to increase the number of Delegates your Post would like to sponsor, please reach out to your District Chairperson so that he/she can provide you with additional allocations from their unused inventory or request additional from Commission Chairman Richard Kearns.
c. Delegate Fees are due to your District Chairperson in two weeks (February 23, 2021).
2021 Samsung Scholarship: As we announced yesterday, the Samsung Scholarship Program is back in play for 2021. This applies whether Boys and Girls State Programs are “in person” or virtual. Applicants for this scholarship program can only be considered in the year that they attend Boys State or Girls State.
We hope you’re all as excited as we are about this development. The Boys State Staff Team is hard at work on putting together a very dynamic and exciting program for 2021.
