March 17 Record Clearing Clinic flier

The Los Angeles  County Bar Association (LACBA) is hosting its next Virtual Record Clearing Clinic, sponsored by Sheppard Mullin, on 

Wednesday, March 17, 2021  3:30 – 6:30 p.m. 

3:30 p.m.–4:30 p.m.: Self-Help Workshop
4:30 p.m.–6:30 p.m.: Volunteer attorneys will be available to provide one-on-one assistance and consultation. You must participate in the virtual  workshop in order to receive one-on-one assistance.

We are offering free legal assistance to all veterans in California through this virtual clinic who have eligible traffic tickets, quality of life citations, or criminal convictions in a California State Superior Court.  Veterans must register to participate in this virtual clinic.

You must complete and return an intake form to reserve your seat.

Clearing Outstanding Tickets and Warrants

This free workshop is open to any veteran in need of help with:

    • Tickets for minor offenses (infractions) such as
      jaywalking, running a stop sign, etc.
    • Failure to Appear charges & warrants
      stemming from tickets.
    • We are unable to assist with parking tickets.

 


Cleaning Criminal Records

This free workshop is open to any veteran in need of help with:

    • Information regarding what convictions can be expunged
    • The criteria to qualify for expungement
    • Forms need to be completed
    • Where to file for expungement

Jared is the senior editor and web team lead for the Department of California and chair of its Media & Communications Commission. He became a member of the American Legion in 2014 when he joined Palisades Post 283 to find stories about veterans issues for a local newspaper while working as its news editor. He was soon brought in as 283's assistant adjutant and historian to help produce the post's award-winning community newspaper.
