American Legion Posts earn credits for every dollar spent on American flags from Flag & Emblem or AmericanLegionFlags.com. Legion Posts across the United States, including Post 221 in Tehachapi, CA, earned credits in 2024 from flag purchases through Emblem Sales’ Flag Rewards program.

How Flag Rewards Work

For every dollar spent on American flags from Emblem Sales or AmericanLegionFlags.com, a Post earns a 10¢ Flag Rewards credit. For example, $100 in flag purchases results in a $10 credit. Whether it’s the Post itself making purchases or individuals, schools, or businesses sponsoring the Post by buying flags, each contribution adds up.

Earning Flag Rewards

Posts can accumulate Flag Rewards in two ways:

Encourage Purchases: Ask potential sponsors to buy their American flags from Emblem Sales or AmericanLegionFlags.com.

Buy & Re-sell: Purchase flags and sell them to sponsors.

Using Flag Rewards

The earned Flag Rewards credit can be used by Posts to acquire a wide array of merchandise available from Emblem Sales, including awards, uniforms, shirts, caps, pins, coins, patches, flags, baseballs, and more.

Enrollment and Redemption

Enrolling in the program is simple. Posts interested in participating in the program can enroll by having their Adjutants fill out an enrollment form, which can be submitted either by mail, fax, or online. Flag Rewards earned for the calendar year are credited by February 1st of the following year and can be used until December 31.

Managing Flag Rewards

Flag Rewards are managed by the Post Adjutant, who can easily monitor and use the accrued credits by logging in with a designated email and password.

Transparency and Accountability

Emblem Sales ensures transparency by providing annual statements of all American flag purchases and Flag Rewards upon request. Purchases using Flag Rewards credits are regulated through the designated email to ensure accountability.

Becoming a Sponsor

Anyone purchasing American flags from Emblem Sales or AmericanLegionFlags.com can choose to sponsor a Post. By doing so, they contribute directly to the Post’s Flag Rewards accumulation. Sponsors can take pride in knowing that their flag purchases contribute directly to local Veterans’ service programs.

Community Engagement

To maximize participation and support, Posts are encouraged to designate a Flag Officer to lead sponsorship campaigns and actively engage with local schools, businesses, and residences displaying the American flag. Public recognition and appreciation for sponsors are also encouraged through various means, such as newspaper ads, newsletters, and tokens of appreciation.
