“The California Programs of The American Legion change lives.”

The Programs and Commissions of The American Legion are how we serve. Although we have webpages for Programs and Commissions, today, we want to focus on the Programs Page because we need your help.

On our Programs webpage are three columns: Legion programs, Legion Youth Programs, and links to program-related resources published by The American Legion.

With your help, we hope to highlight how the Department of California is engaged in and supports The American Legion programs. In California, we have several strong programs of The American Legion. Among our more robust programs are The Sons of The American Legion, the American Legion Riders, American Legion Baseball, Boys State, and Oratorical Contests.

However, we do not support all The American Legion programs, although we would like to support more. Department Commander Ed Grimsley agrees that we want to share our California Legionnaires’ good work with everyone in the department with programs The American Legion we do support in California.

To do this, we need your help!

As an example, it is possible the Special Olympics program is being supported by California Legionnaires, and the Web Teams is unaware of the who, what, when, and where of our Legionnaire’s involvement. When the Legionnaires involved with Special Olympics contact the Web Team about their involvement, we can share the story on our website’s Programs page. Then we can also publish information about the Special Olympics online.

Please, we would really like to hear from you if you have information about how our California Legionnaires are supporting the Programs of The American Legion. You can contact me at 805-925-9144 or rick@pushies.com.
