We — Indian Valley Post 568 — will be holding a parade in Greenville at 11 a.m. on Veterans Day, despite the Dixie Fire and despite COVID.
We will be following our usual route up Main Street from Mill Street past the old masonic lodge, the drug store, the hotel, the hardware store — which belonged to post member John Hunter, who was also a volunteer firefighter —  to the Legion Hall.
Because of the fire devastation, the American Legion hall is gone, as are all of the buildings we will be marching past, but we expect a good turnout, with floats and other marchers. The fire took less than 20 minutes to destroy more than 75% of Greenville. It had already destroyed most of Indian Falls and destroyed all of Canyon Dam the day after it went through Greenville.
We have Post Members who lost homes and businesses to this Fire but no one was seriously hurt and no one, no human, died in this one.
