CHAPLAIN OF THE YEAR – Complete the form for Chaplain of the Year and submit it ASAP. Awards will be presented during the Annual Convention. CHAPLAIN’S REPORT OF SERVICE – Please submit your report to the Department Chaplain at chaplain@calegion.org ASAP. Announcements for EVERYONE: 1. Advanced Reservations ($10 each) are required. More information to follow. 2. BUDDY CHECKS – Remember to remember our Comrades and make Buddy Check Calls regularly. 3. Jared is the senior editor and web team lead for the Department of California and chair of its Media & Communications Commission. He became a member of the American Legion in 2014 when he joined Palisades Post 283 to find stories about veterans issues for a local newspaper while working as its news editor. He was soon brought in as 283's assistant adjutant and historian to help produce the post's award-winning community newspaper. Since then, Jared has used his media skills to help further the efforts of The American Legion in its advocacy of veterans and their families. Jared has also worked for several years to help revitalize the 100-year-old Santa Monica Post 123, formerly as its adjutant and as a member of its executive board, before transferring back to Post 283.
Thank you for all that you. As the newly appointed Chaplain for Area 2, it’s an honor to see the great work that is being done. I’m incorporating the faiths that I was raised with Sikh and Christian into the services that we provide in the SF Bay & Monterey Bay regions.
Yes, we stand for God and Country, but please remember that we are non-denominational. Maybe you could add some additional symbology to the cross. There are chaplains of other faiths.
