Join American Legion Post 136 for a BBQ fundraiser at the Miners Ace Hardware parking lot in Nipomo on July 22nd from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This event aims to raise money to purchase Christmas wreaths through Wreaths Across America.

Then on December 16, Post 136 will participate in a wreath-laying event at the Arroyo Grande Cemetery.

This special occasion involves laying Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our fallen heroes, honoring their service and sacrifice. Each year, Post 136 raises money to buy Christmas wreaths for over 2,100 Veterans at the Arroyo Grande Cemetery.

Marshall Anderson, the commander of Post 136, emphasized the importance of remembering and honoring these brave individuals. With every wreath laid, a solemn salute or a hand over the heart is offered accompanied by the spoken names of the fallen, ensuring they are not forgotten during the Christmas season.

For a contribution of $17, you can purchase a wreath and also receive a steak sandwich, chips, and a drink.

If you’re unable to attend the event but still wish to contribute, you can make a donation online here or directly to Post 136. By clicking “Sponsor Wreaths,” you can play a part in honoring each and every Veteran at the Arroyo Grande Cemetery. Your support will help American Legion Post 136 achieve their goal of placing a Christmas wreath on every Veteran’s grave.
