We had a first of its kind, Veterans Resource Fair on Wednesday, November 17th at the American Legion Post #25 in El Centro, CA 92243. There were about 80 or so participants and about 17 different agencies from the county offering different services and resources. The agencies brought door prizes that were raffled among the attendees. We fed everyone a chicken bowl from Pollo Loco; thanks to a contribution from our local CEO Dr. Edwards from El Centro Regional Medical Center. We were able to buy 100 meals. Imperial Public Health staff were also present, and offered Pfizer and Moderna shots along with the boosters to those who attended.
We hope to continue this and it will not be a one-time yearly event but move it to our other American Legion posts within our community.
