2023 Veterans Day Discounts

With Veterans Day on the horizon, California American Legion is compiling a list of discounts and coupons California Veterans can take advantage of this year. All the listings below have been confirmed and we will update this list as new deals are announced. Be sure to check back!

Note: this list only includes Veterans Day-specific discounts; we won’t be including year-round military and Veterans discounts.

CALIFORNIA FOOD AND DRINK DISCOUNTS ON VETERANS DAY

Applebee’s

Across the United States, Applebee’s locations will be offering Veterans Day deals and promotions for active-duty military, Veterans, reserves, and National Guard members who dine-in at the restaurant. They will receive a complimentary full-size entrée from a special menu and a $5 Bounce Back Card, which can be redeemed for dine-in, To Go, or delivery within a three-week window.

Benihana

On November 11, active-duty military members and Veterans can enjoy a free appetizer with the purchase of any lunch or dinner entrée.

BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse

Veterans with a valid military ID can dine-in on November 11 and receive a free Chocolate Chunk Pizookie with any $9.95+ purchase. Those who spend over $14.95 for dine-in or takeout will receive a bounce back coupon for a free appetizer, redeemable between November 12 and December 31.

Black Angus Steakhouse

On November 10 from 12 pm to 3 pm, current and former military members can enjoy a free meal from a select menu with valid ID, available for dine-in only.

Buffalo Wild Wings

Veterans and active-duty service members can receive a free order of 10 boneless wings and fries on November 11 with a valid ID. This offer is for dine-in only.

California Fish Grill

On November 11, Veterans and active-duty military personnel can enjoy a complimentary taco and soft drink.

California Pizza Kitchen

Veterans and active-duty military members can receive a complimentary meal on November 11 and a BOGO offer for a pizza, pasta, or salad of equal or lesser value, redeemable from November 12 to November 21.

Charleys Cheesesteaks

Veterans and active-duty military can receive free gourmet fries in-store with no purchase necessary on November 11 at participating locations with a valid ID.

Chili’s

Veterans and active-duty service members can get a free meal from a select menu on November 11, available for in-restaurant dining only.

Circle K

On November 11, Circle K offers free coffee through the Circle K app to thank Veterans and active-duty military personnel. To redeem, download the Circle K mobile app and follow the instructions under the Deals tab. Valid at participating stores.

Claim Jumper

Veterans and active-duty military can enjoy a free dine-in meal from a special menu on November 13.

Coco’s Bakery Restaurant

Veterans and active-duty military can receive a free Homestyle Breakfast on November 11, available for dine-in only.

Cracker Barrel

Veterans can enjoy a slice of Coca-Cola Cake with any purchase on Veterans Day.

Dave & Buster’s

Veterans can receive a free entree (up to $20) and a free $10 Power Card with a valid Veterans ID card on November 11.

Denny’s

Veterans and military personnel can enjoy a free Original Grand Slam on November 10 from 5 a.m. to noon, available for dine-in only with valid Military ID or DD214.

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit

Veterans and active-duty military can receive a free pulled pork sandwich on November 11, valid for in-store, online, and carryout orders.

Dunkin’

Veterans and active-duty military can enjoy a free donut of their choice on November 11 at participating locations, available in-store only.

Famous Dave’s

Veterans and current military members can receive a free Georgia chopped pork sandwich and a side at participating locations. Proof of service is required, and it is valid for dine-in, To Go, and online orders.

Farmer Boys

Veterans and active-duty military personnel can receive a free big cheese burger on November 11 at participating locations with proof of service, not valid for delivery or mobile ordering.

Golden Corral

On November 13 from 5 pm to close, Golden Corral is hosting Military Appreciation Night, offering a free “thank you” meal when dining in.

Hard Rock Cafe

Active-duty military and Veterans can enjoy a free Legendary burger on November 11, available for dine-in only with valid ID.

Hooters

Active-duty military and Veterans can get a free entrée from the Hooters Veterans Day Menu with the purchase of a beverage at participating locations on November 11, available for dine-in only.

IHOP

Veterans and active-duty military can enjoy free red, white, & blueberry pancakes or a pancake combo on November 11 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., available for dine-in only at participating restaurants.

IKEA

From November 10 to 12, Veterans and active-duty military members with a valid ID can dine for free in the restaurant.

Juice It Up

Veterans and active-duty service members can receive a free medium classic smoothie on November 11, available in-store only with proof of service.

Little Caesars

Veterans and active-duty military can receive a free lunch combo at participating stores on November 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., available in-store only.

Luna Grill

Luna Grill offers a permanent 10% discount (excluding alcohol) for all service members, Veterans, and their spouses with valid proof of service or uniform. This discount is valid in-restaurant only.

Menchie’s

Veterans and active-duty military can get their first 6 oz of frozen yogurt for free on November 11 with valid ID.

MOD Pizza

Buy one MOD-size pizza or salad, get one MOD-size pizza or salad free on November 11 with proof of military service, valid in-store only.

McCormick & Schmick’s

Veterans, National Guard, Gold Star Parents, and Gold Star Spouses can enjoy a select half-priced entrée on November 12, 2023, as part of Veterans Day.

O’Charley’s

O’Charley’s offers Veterans and active-duty military a special free lunch menu on November 10 and 11. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, Veterans can order one free entrée from the special menu and/or receive a free slice of pie at dinner. Both offers are for dine-in only.

Outback Steakhouse

Active-duty military and Veterans can get a free bloomin’ onion and beverage with the purchase of an adult entree in-restaurant on November 11.

Peet’s Coffee

Active-duty military and Veterans can receive a free small drip coffee or tea on November 11 at participating locations with proof of service.

Pilot Flying J

Service members and their families can get a free meal at participating locations from November 10 to 12 through a special offer in the app.

Publix

Veterans and active-duty military personnel can get a 10% discount on groceries with a valid ID on November 11, valid for in-store purchases only.

Red Lobster

Veterans, active-duty military, and reservists can get free printed meal vouchers for Veterans shrimp & chips from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm local time on November 11. Guests need to show a valid military ID or proof of service. The voucher can be redeemed beginning November 13 through December 10 for dine-in only.

Red Robin

Veterans and active-duty military can enjoy a complimentary Red’s Big Tavern burger on November 11 with valid ID, available for dine-in only and not valid for online or to-go orders. The free meal also comes with an endless side of steak fries.

Round Table Pizza

On November 11, customers can get 15% off their order with code VET15 to share a meal with a veteran they love.

Sizzler

On November 11 until 4:00 pm, participating locations offer a free lunch to active-duty military and Veterans. Choose between a free half dozen crispy shrimp, Malibu chicken, or 6 oz tri-tip steak entree.

Smoothie King

Active-duty military and Veterans can get a free smoothie from one of three red, white, and blue smoothies at participating locations on November 11 with a valid ID.

Starbucks

Starbucks is honoring Veterans, military service members, and military spouses with a free tall (12-ounce) hot or cold brewed coffee at participating U.S. stores on November 11.

Texas Roadhouse

At participating locations, active-duty military and Veterans can dine in or receive a meal voucher on November 11 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a form of military ID. These vouchers are good for dine-in or carry out at a later time until May 30, 2024. If you choose to dine in on November 11 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., there will be a specific menu to select from.

Wendy’s

Active-duty military and Veterans can get a free breakfast combo on November 11 at participating locations during breakfast hours with valid ID.

White Castle

Veterans and active-duty military can get a free individual combo meal or a breakfast combo meal when dining at a participating restaurant on November 11.

Yard House

Veterans and active-duty military can get a free dine-in appetizer on November 11 with no purchase necessary.

RETAIL (CALIFORNIA AND ONLINE)

Great Clips

On November 11, Veterans and active military service members can visit any Great Clips salon and receive a free haircut or a card for a free haircut to be redeemed during a future visit. Non-military customers who get a haircut at a Great Clips salon on November 11 will also receive a free haircut card that can be given to a Veteran or active military service member to thank them for their service. These cards can be redeemed for a free haircut from November 12 through December 1, 2023.

IKEA

From November 10 through 22, Veterans and active military members with a valid ID can enjoy a 15% discount on in-store home furnishings purchases, up to $3000 (pre-tax).

Kohl’s

Active and former military personnel, Veterans, and their families can receive a 30% discount on qualifying in-store purchases from November 10 through 12. A valid military ID is required.

Office Depot and OfficeMax

Veterans, active duty and retired military personnel, reservists, and their dependents can receive 25% off qualifying regular and sale-priced purchases in stores nationwide from November 11 through 13. Shoppers must present a valid military ID, military dependent ID, or a form of veteran ID at the time of purchase.

Rite Aid

From November 10 to 12, customers with a valid military ID or proof of service are eligible for 15% off regular-priced items at any Rite Aid location. Customers must be members of the Rite Aid Rewards program, and this offer is available for in-store purchases only.

Sport Clips

Participating Sport Clips locations provide free haircuts to Veterans and service members every November 11.

Target

Veterans and service members enrolled in Target Circle will receive a 10%-off coupon every November.

Vitamin Shoppe

Veterans and active-duty military personnel can receive a 25% discount on in-store purchases at The Vitamin Shoppe and Super Supplements from November 11 through 13.

Walgreens

From November 10 through 13, Veterans, active-duty military, and their families can receive a 20% discount on regular-priced eligible store items at any Walgreens or Duane Reade drugstore nationwide.

ENTERTAINMENT

Aquarium of the Pacific

Veterans and active-duty military personnel can enjoy free admission on November 11.

Knott’s Berry Farm

From November 1 to November 16 and from November 27 to December 14, Veterans and active-duty military can purchase tickets for themselves and up to five additional guests for $20 per ticket.

National Parks

On November 11, free admission is offered to all National Park Service sites that charge an entrance fee.

Six Flags Theme Parks

On November 11 and 12, all Veterans and active duty personnel receive free park admission, and friends and family of Veterans or active duty military can enjoy $19.99 park admission for up to four people. Valid Military ID, VA Card, and a DD214 are also accepted for redemption at the park.

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts

Eligible military members can enjoy everyday savings of up to 15% off the Best Available Rate at participating hotels. For a limited time, Wyndham Rewards members receive 1,000 bonus points for one qualified stay booked directly by December 8 and completed by December 11.
