All California Veterans

  • From Oct. 31 to Nov. 4, the U.S. Small Business Administration, or SBA, will be celebrating National Veterans Small Business Week. Veterans can attend in-person and online workshops to learn about new opportunities and skills.

San Francisco Veterans

  • Calif. Reps. Mike Thompson and John Garamendi have introduced a bill that would rename the Mare Island Veterans Affairs Clinic after Delphine Metcaf-Foster, who served during Operation Desert Storm and received a Bronze Star.

San Diego Veterans

  • Former chief petty officer Christopher Toups, who defrauded the Traumatic Servicemembers Group Life Insurance Program out of $2 million after submitting false claims, has pleaded guilty.
  • From Nov. 1 to Nov. 13, San Diego will be hosting its annual Fleet Week celebration.

Kern County Veterans

  • Veterans can travel for free on GET Buses throughout the month of November.

Los Angeles Veterans

  • The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has voted to research new ways to support veterans in the community, including a more streamlined process for placing veterans in public jobs and improving social services.
