The 2024 VA Veterans Day Poster Contest is now accepting entries, providing an opportunity for artists to showcase their talent while paying tribute to Veterans.

The contest is open to all individuals and artwork should reflect this year’s theme, “A Legacy of Loyalty and Service.” The VA and the Veterans Day National Committee invite entries for this year’s contest, with submissions due by 11:59 p.m. (EDT) on April 1, 2024. The winner will be chosen by the committee in May.

Submissions should be sent as .jpg images or PDF files to vetsday@va.gov.

Last year’s winning design, created by Eugene Russell, embodied the connection between service and country. The winning poster from this year’s contest will be widely distributed, including to VA facilities, military installations worldwide, and various cities and towns across the nation. Additionally, it will be featured on the cover of the official program for the Veterans Day National Observance at Arlington National Cemetery on November 11, 2024.

Submissions should represent the diverse experiences of all Veterans who have served. The committee may request modifications to the winning design before printing, and artwork must adhere to specific size and resolution requirements.

Specifications for submissions include dimensions of 18” x 24” at 300 dots per inch, but entries will be scaled down to 9”x12”. Designs must also be suitable for scaling down to a lapel pin. Artists may optionally submit a modified design specifically tailored for the lapel pin.

Entrants can find more information about poster specifications here.

Submissions can feature a variety of imagery, including American icons, monuments, or landscapes. Each design must include the phrases “Veterans Day,” “November 11, 2024,” and “Honoring all who served.”

To ensure originality, submissions must be the artist’s own work and not include copyrighted material. Successful designs typically feature simple imagery and text. Examples of past winning submissions can be found in the Veterans Day Poster Gallery.
