The American Legion Community Post 46 is hosting a “Raise the Roof Concert,” featuring 60s-themed music performances, to raise funds for a much-needed roof replacement.

The event is scheduled for April 6 at 7:30 p.m. at the American Legion Community Post 46 located at 5309 Sepulveda Blvd. in Culver City, with doors opening at 6:00 p.m. The event will feature performances by Andy & Renee, recognized locally for their contributions to Torrance’s Dylanfest. Guests can enjoy a no-host full bar, snacks, a drawing for prizes, and complimentary parking at the event.

Individuals interested in attending the event are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance, priced at $25, or opt for door tickets priced at $30. Alternatively, there is an option to stream the concert from home for a fee of $10.

Further details regarding ticket purchase and additional event information can be found on the designated event website.

Post 46 Commander Roy Chamberlin says the support from the community will not only help with a roof replacement but also allow for the installation of energy-efficient heating and air conditioning systems. “The American Legion Community Post 46 has been a pillar of the community since 1924, and with this and other fundraising events we may continue to provide services to not only our community but to our Veterans, our Active Duty, and their families for another 100 years.”

In addition to supporting the roof replacement, proceeds from the concert will support the Veterans National Entertainment Workshop, VNEW. Dedicated to providing no-cost music workshops and free instruments to Active Duty Military, Veterans, and their families, VNEW expresses enthusiasm for collaborating with the American Legion Community Post 46 in pursuit of their shared objectives. VNEW Co-Founder, Kandi Reyes, also a member of the Post 46 Auxiliary, views the concert as an opportunity to advance the missions of both organizations while celebrating the timeless music of the 1960s.
