Announcement – Historian Toolkit Released

A training package called the Historian Toolkit has been developed and released to help new and existing historians become better at their responsibilities. The toolkit is available on the Department Historian Center at https://calegion.org/historian-center/

If you are an Area, District, or Post Historian this training is for you.  It focuses on how to think like a Historian, how to cover local Legion events, considerations for the Historian’s budget, and resources for creating a digital archive of important documents and historical photographs.  Also, a copy of the outline for a digital archive is included.  This outline should help organize data when placed on external servers.

Should you have any questions, or need additional clarification, please contact Fred Shacklett, our Department Historian at historian@calegion.org

Regards,

Fred Shacklett
