California American Legion College 2-2026

JULY 17-19, 2026

We are now accepting applications for the summer course of California American Legion College!

The mission of California American Legion College (CALC) is to empower American Legion Post leaders with proven management practices, compliance stewardship, collaborative partnerships, and strategic membership growth. By equipping leaders with the skills to optimize resources and elevate public awareness, we strengthen the American Legion’s mission and programs in our communities and amplify its impact.

The course begins at 8:00 AM on Friday, July 17.
Graduation should be completed by 1:00 PM on Sunday, July 19.

Department Headquarters
1601 7th Street, Sanger, CA 93657

TOPICS INCLUDE:
Legion Charities, Be The One/Buddy Checks, Community Engagement, Corporate Responsibility, Legislative Advocacy, Tax Exempt Status, Post Charters, Marketing/Public Relations, Parliamentary Procedures, Post Operations, Post VSO, Flag Code, Resolutions, Strategic Planning, and Trademarks

APPLICATION:

Application open until class reaches max capacity, or June 29, whichever comes first. 

PREREQUISITES:

  • Complete The American Legion’s online Basic Training Course.
  • Write a resolution on a topic of your choice.
    Once your application is submitted, you will receive instructions on how to write a resolution.

Please submit your prerequisites to CALC@caLegion.org as soon as possible to secure your seat, but no later than June 29. (Failure to submit requirements by the deadline will result in forfeiture of your class seat.)
