To all of my fellow guy & gal vets ….. I had the honor and priviledge to be stationed at Schofield Barracks in 1967 ….. I promised my Dad a WW2 Navy Vet that I would visit Pearl when my first time off came ….. Second Saturday, me and some of my buddies went down to Pearl ….. It was truly a memorable experience !!!!!!! Now, flash forward to 1998… The wife and I went to Hawaii for a vacation, went to Pearl, signed up for the trip out to the Arizona Memorial…. Honestly had to wait, as the excursion boat was involved in a ceremony of taking the remains of a crewman who wanted to be interred with his shipmates !!!!!!!!!!! GOD BLESS THIS COUNTRY !!!!!
I am a board member of Veterans for Life, Inc. and we would like to find at least 5 acres in the Sacramento area to provide housing and jobs for homeless veterans. The jobs will be in a farming environment where the vet will be able to earn money and be able to get their own housing on their own. The program we have outlined is totally for our veterans and can work with other services like the treatment of PTSD. Our initial objective is to house and provide jobs for six homeless veterans. We believe this can be duplicated in several parts of Sacramento and other cities.
We look forward to hearing from you.
