Dr. Shane Kraus is a well-published Principal Investigator of the Behavioral Addictions (BA) Lab at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, or UNLV, with an expertise in gambling disorders and veteran populations. More information regarding the BA Lab can be found at: http://ba.sites.unlv.edu/research/director/

The BA Lab is currently conducting a qualitative study to gain a deeper understanding into the barriers and facilitators of military personnel accessing treatment for gambling disorder. As a result, we are searching for appropriate participants. In order to be included in the study participants must be:

    • Currently serving in the US Armed Forces (e.g., the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, or Coast Guard) OR military veterans,
    • 18 years and older,
    • Currently experience concerns with gambling OR have experienced concerns with gambling in the past 10 years, and
    • Report gambling as their main concern (if they have other clinical concerns).

Participants will be asked to complete two separate sessions: 1) a telephone or Zoom screening that will review the informed consent and the eligibility to participate in the study (15 minutes) and 2) a Zoom or in-person semi-structured interview (two hours). Participants will be given a $75 visa gift card through UNLV’s Forte System for their full participation in the study.

To sign up, email the UNLV Behavioral Addictions Lab at behavioral.addictions.lab@unlv.edu
