The Road Warrior Foundation and Can-Am partnering up Wednesday to give away a custom Spyder three-wheeled motorcycle to a deserving veteran. The Veterans Day Can-Am giveaway will allow families and friends to nominate a former servicemember who would benefit from having “Adventure Therapy in their life.”

The nomination period will end on Nov. 25 at 11:59 pm EST. Three finalists will be selected by the Road Warrior Foundation and public voting will determine the ultimate winner of the custom vehicle, a 2020 Spyder F3-S from Can-Am.

The Road Warrior Foundation says anyone can nominate a deserving veteran, even if the nominee is not a rider, and the foundation will sponsor their participation in the Can-Am Rider Education Program.

The Road Warrior Foundation

The Road Warrior Foundation was formed in 2013 by U.S. Air Force veterans Steve Berger and Craig Anders. The foundation’s goal is to use “powersports and adventure to produce a challenging environment that takes people out and puts them back in the driver’s seat.”

Every year, the foundation holds several events including their annual Road Warrior Ride that spans thousands of miles across the United States.

This year, five veterans traveled over 3,500 miles from San Diego, CA to Mount Rushmore in Keystone, SD. The therapeutic journey, which places veterans on their own Can-Am Spyder, lasted two weeks and included more than a dozen stops along the way.

The American Legion Riders

The American Legion Riders also conduct cross-country rides throughout the country.

The Riders currently have over 110,000 members and participate in everything from local events supporting wounded servicemembers to escorting active duty units that are returning home from overseas.

The Riders are managed by local posts and many are part of events such as annual rides for Operation Wounded Warrior and the annual American Legion Legacy Run.
