The Los Angeles County Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, along with the Veteran Pure Access Network, or VPAN, is inviting everyone to join them for their second annual Open House on Friday, Oct. 13.

The event will take place at Bob Hope Patriotic Hall, located at 1816 S Figueroa Street in Los Angeles, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is free, and attendees will have the opportunity to engage in discussions and activities throughout the day.

The event kicks off with a warm welcome from Director Jim Zenner, accompanied by coffee and donuts for early arrivers.

From 10:05 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., the first panel discussion will feature VPAN and the Veteran Mental Evaluation Team. Both offices will discuss critical topics concerning Veterans in crisis and suicide prevention. The discussion will also explore challenges Veterans face and strategies for offering support during difficult times.

Following, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the focus will shift to a presentation by the Los Angeles County Department of Military and Veterans Affairs. This session will provide an overview of the past year’s achievements and offer a glimpse into what lies ahead for Veterans care and support. It is an opportunity to stay informed about the initiatives and services available to Veterans in the county.

From 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., attendees can enjoy lunch while taking in the views of Downtown Los Angeles from the balcony of the Bob Hope Patriotic Hall. This lunch break is meant to provide a setting for networking and connecting with fellow attendees.

For those interested in getting a closer look at the historic Bob Hope Patriotic Hall, tours of the facility will be available from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. These tours are optional but offer an opportunity to explore a piece of Los Angeles history. To register or for additional details, visit the event’s website.
