We are strongly urging members to submit letters in support of SB 694.

As of today, fewer than 400 letters have been submitted statewide. Given the size of the veteran population we collectively account for, this level of engagement does not reflect the importance of this legislation to our community.

The opposition is active, organized, and well-resourced. They currently have individuals at the Capitol on a daily basis advocating against SB 694. By contrast, we do not anticipate consistent veteran presence at the Capitol until at least next Tuesday. This imbalance is significant and directly impacts how this bill is being perceived in real time.

At this stage, broad and sustained grassroots engagement is essential. We need veterans and supporters making phone calls, sending letters, and engaging through social media. Every available channel must be utilized. From now until SB 694 is brought to the Senate floor, continuous pressure is necessary. The floor vote could occur later this month or sooner, the timing remains uncertain, but the need for immediate action does not.

We are still actively working to secure votes. At present, we are at approximately 19 confirmed votes. Twenty-one votes are required for passage. Many of the members are telling me they are undecided.

Please distribute this message as widely as possible within your networks. Your leadership and outreach are critical to ensuring that the voices of veterans are heard clearly and consistently. Every letter, every call, and every message contributes to the momentum needed to move this bill forward.

Thank you for your continued leadership and for stepping up at this critical moment.
