TAL/SAL COOPERATION BEGETS NEW DETACHMENT PRESENCE

SANGER, CA, Nov. 4, 2021 – SAL Detachment Assistant Adjutant Alex Brandon’s vision for re-branding the Sons of The American Legion in California just happened to match up with what the Department Web Team had been trying to promote for a while. When they began combining their efforts a few months ago, and with the blessings of the Commanders and Adjutants of their respective entities, they started in earnest to bring their now common goal to fruition. In addition to casons.org, this collaboration produced a new Detachment logo, a 90th Anniversary “seal”/lapel pin for the Sons, and the California Adjutants Network (C.A.N.).

The goal of this website was to emulate what the Department had done and to reinforce each other’s (TAL/SAL) brand. Common to both sites is an ease of navigation and nothing anyone is looking for being more than 2 “clicks” away. The Department’s cooperation extended to office emails for the top 50 slots in the Detachment. While the Department’s emails end in @calegion.org, the Detachment’s end in the new @casons.org (a domain previously obtained by Brandon).

Pivotal to this whole process has been the support from Jared Morgan, Chairman of the Department’s Media & Communications Commission. He was immediately excited about the project and deserves thankful recognition. All those involved believe this joint venture to be a testament to what can be accomplished by TAL and SAL working together at every level. The Web Team, of which Alex is now a member, may be contacted at webteam@calegion.org. He will largely be responsible for maintaining the Detachment’s communications framework going forward.
