Dear Paula Wagner, Amelia Laprade, and Brigette Alee,

We would like to take this opportunity to commend all of you on your REMARKABLE efforts and OUTSTANDING SERVICE to the dependents, families, and shipmates of the “TR,” USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) and Carrier Strike Group 9 (CSG-9), including guided-missile cruiser USS Bunker Hill (CG 53) and guided-missile destroyers from Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 23, USS Russell (DDG 59), USS Rafaela Peralta (DDG 115), and Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 11!

Thank you for allowing us to have a glimpse of the sacrifice and support you offer on a daily basis to your families. It was tremendously GRATIFYING to see the faces and hear the voices of appreciation and even the tears of JOY and GRATITUDE from the spouses and families of your service members during our days of Holiday Giving of over 200 turkeys and 650 toys on December 21st and 22nd at American Legion Post 460 in San Diego.

As dependents ourselves growing up in military families right here in San Diego, the team at H3 Heroes Helping Heroes 4Life KNOWS the feeling of missing a loved one for months at a time — especially during the Holidays. We KNOW how demanding it is for the parent on the homefront to “hold down the fort” and keep the family running. More importantly, we KNOW how much your loved ones DEPEND on leaders such as yourselves to take excellent CARE of their families!

During this challenging time of pandemic and economic strain, we believe the COMMUNITY of San Diego needs to know about all the GOOD WORK you are doing! We would like to have you featured on KUSI to tell your stories and bring some measure of HOPE that results from the Genuine Goodwill you bring to our city.

We believe it is important to get the word out about something that means a great deal to our community, and to show everyone that Goodwill IS Happening! Please let us know to WHOM we should share these Accolades, including ALL commands and National offices including the Secretary of the Navy. We are thankful to the American Legion for hosting us, along with nonprofit partners Hugs and Bags and SDCA, for collaborating on this event. We are ESPECIALLY grateful to those in the community who stepped up to help our military families with donations, including very generous contributions from local businesses such as Heritage Global, Inc.

Again, we would like to extend our sincerest thanks for the sacrifice of your families and your active duty members who are serving. We plan to continue to serve the “TR” battle group families with an Easter Egg Hunt in the Spring and other activities to show our support.

With Appreciation from the entire H3 Team,
