Rep. Julia Brownley (D-CA) spoke about the work being done on the women veterans task force and thanked the House Committee on Veterans Affairs for its support.

“The authorization of the Task Force will further advance our mission to increase the visibility of women veterans and promote inclusivity and true equity for the two million women who have served our nation in uniform,” she said during the committee session on Tuesday July 19.

Established in 2019, the task force is credited with pushing for the passage of the Deborah Sampson Act, which helped to expand healthcare and benefits to women veterans.
