American Legion Gaming (ALG) continues to redefine veteran engagement in The American Legion through gaming with two dynamic livestream events—one held in Visalia, California, during the Department of California Convention, and the other hosted by the Department of North Carolina. These coast-to-coast activations reinforced ALG’s mission of building community, comfort, and careers for veterans and service members through the power of play.

Streaming Across the Nation
In Visalia, the ALG team took the stage at the California State Convention June 26-29, when Legionnaires participated in a live-streamed gaming event on the official American Legion Gaming Twitch channel. Dozens of attendees joined casual and competitive matches, helping to spotlight gaming as a tool for connection and recruitment.

Meanwhile, across the country in North Carolina, ALG supporters mirrored the event with a simultaneous livestream featuring local veterans and players. From multiplayer matches to heartfelt conversations about mental health and community building, the event demonstrated how American Legion Gaming is creating a truly national network.

Major Milestone: Resolution Passed
The excitement in Visalia was amplified by a historic moment for the movement: the passage of the American Legion Gaming resolution. With overwhelming support, the resolution officially established American Legion Gaming as a recognized program under the Department of California, laying the groundwork for national adoption.

“This is a huge win,” said Jared Morgan, Executive Director of ALG. “This resolution not only validates the work we’ve done so far—it gives us the green light to scale gaming programs across the state and, eventually, the nation.”

Training the Next Wave of Legion Gamers
In addition to the livestream, the gaming committee hosted several hands-on training sessions throughout the convention. These workshops provided posts with actionable strategies for starting their own gaming programs—from budget-friendly console setups to Discord management, esports event planning, and membership funnel integration.

“Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for Legion posts to get involved,” said Andre Andrews, Chair of the California Department Gaming Committee. “Whether you have $200 or $20,000, there’s a way to bring gaming to your post.”

A Movement That’s Just Getting Started
These activations are the latest in a growing series of successful events for ALG. The team’s efforts are creating real momentum across departments and districts—uniting generations, improving mental wellness, and helping more veterans find purpose through digital connection.
