Great Team!!! I see a great year coming for California…

The 2026/2027 convention was, at the least very disappointing. This was the third American Legion Department of California that I’ve attended. Without getting into the weeds, the venue is run down.
It’s great to try to make the convention fun but if the basics are lacking the whole thing becomes a mess. I pray that our new Department Commander can rework the parts that did not work and bring us a strong presentation of our Department Of California next year in Los Angeles. I believe that the future of the American Legion in California Depends on it.

I hope the form has been received in time. I sent it in last month. I’m kind of new at this, so I want to ensure everything’s done correctly as I am also listed as a delegate for the State Convention in Visalia.

I have received notification that my post data report was past due and I have already filled it out and sent it in. I hope it has been received and just not registered in time for this notification.

Congratulations to 1st place winner of the contest, Ms. Fayad from Area 5, and to all of the other areas’ contestants!

Best wishes to Ms. Fayad at the National level contest in mid-May at Hillsdale College in Michigan.

I can’t find any information on the post status.

I recommend calling Sanger headquarters for both since I do not know their addresses.

Bill Siler. What a Remarkable man & a True Legionnaire as many will share on this platform. I met Bill at my 1st Dept Convention. He made me feel so welcomed; in that we became Convention pals for life 😊. We kept up with each other’s birthday:s for awhile. You will Never be Forgotten, Bill.🙏🌹

Thank you Comrade Chaplain for these very fine and appropriate comments.

Bill was my mentor & my Post Adjutant while I commanded Post 132. He knew the Legion better than anyone I ever knew & he knew almost everyone in the Legion personally. We have lost another one of our greats who joins Autrey James and Ed Grimsley and many others at Post Everlasting; and today we must mourn yet another great, Jere Romano, gone too too soon. The sadness and grief is almost unbearable.

Rest in peace, brothers. We have the watch.

Can you get me Bill’s address so I can send condolences to his family. He was my State Adjutant when I was Dept Service Officer.
Also I need NEC Jere Romano’s address so I may send him cad of healing
Thanks,
