Wow Adrian shocked me as a former enlisted that didn’t make it to retirement and probably has a nice high paying job with either the state or federal government or maybe with one of the over priced healthcare companies in California that are making it harder for those that cant afford medical. I am lucky to have my TRICARE to back me up. I figured that if I moved out of California it would be like getting a 5K raise per year at least. This bill would help to keep all retirees in the state which does have lots to offer.
We are considering moving from Midwest to California but are in sticker shock when we see what taxes we might have to pay on military retirement.
Sadly this should be a no brainer in todays society when the retired military keeps getting skipped over or money set aside for Vetarans get sent to countries in war at the moment and new comers are getting so much more help than the folks who have actually worked and paid taxes with no freebies given.
With so many people moving away from California we might be a little crazy to go live there and pay so much more than we do here.
Is there a contact in Congress we ca write to and express our feelings on this matter since it is affecting veterans?
I’m a GWI victim who subsequently developed colon cancer. Is GWI the new name for Gulf War Syndrome? Anyway, after my surgery for the cancer, I had 3 nasty bouts of an infection called C.diff. That bacteria is an excess of Clostridioides difficile in your gut. Very nasty stuff!!!! This new study may very well explain my C.diff infections. Can you get my name and contact info to Dr. Chatterjee? I would love to be a part of any follow-on studies. Thanks!
I do not believe we should be giving free advertising to a for profit organization. There are plenty of veteran owned companies that do not receive his free advertising from our non-profit. Might be violating our own bylaws, articles of incorporation, state and federal and tax laws. If any of our post want to do this on their own, that is fine. We should not be promoting a for-profit take over of our non-profits.
Now disabled from working veterans can never compete for housing in most of expensive CA. . We due to low income will be stuck in the programs for substance abusers and psychotics even more. Families and high income veterans will now get the safest most accessible housing . We also don’t have the privacy rights of a criminal in VASH. Criminals are protected by search warrants to access personal finances. My HA wants our spending income all pages of bank statements not just HUD required income . There’s already limited available on accessible keeping many not
Just me homeless. And no privacy And the HA decides who gets thier special helps to find housing. Families and now high income veterans will block accessibility for single disabled adults I need a live in help and physical accessibility and safety, I need allergy free cooking /living spaces too but live in my car. There was little hope with bad free legal in my area and better access and help for other working and children too. Now there is no hope .

Why don’t 100% disabled veterans get full property tax exemptions in california ….
It is cheaper for the state than reparations….maybe a new governor who has served in military will do it for our veterans
