The Global War on Terrorism Memorial Foundation is inviting the public to help shape the design of the National Global War on Terrorism Memorial, which will stand proudly at the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

Americans are encouraged to play a part in designing a memorial that pays tribute to those who’ve shaped history through their sacrifices in the Global War on Terrorism. The memorial will be a symbol of the nation’s resilience in the face of adversity.

Running from September 26 to October 17, 2023, the “Help Design History” campaign spans 22 days, symbolizing the 22 years of the ongoing battle against terrorism. The campaign also coincides with the 22nd anniversary of Operation Jawbreaker, a pivotal moment in the war.

This campaign seeks input from all Americans, including active military, Veterans, and civilians, to create a memorial that embodies their experiences and sacrifices in the Global War on Terrorism.

Foundation President/CEO Michael “Rod” Rodríguez emphasizes the importance of the public’s contribution of their individual perspectives and stories.

This campaign stands as an opportunity for the public to help shape a memorial that speaks to the nation and the world. The American Legion has offered its support through Resolution No. 16.
