  • U.S. Rep. Norma Torres, D-Calif. has introduced the Enrique Roman-Martinez Military Cold Case Justice Act of 2022, which aims to reform the way the U.S. Military handles cold cases. The act is named after Spc. Enrique Roman-Martinez from Chino, whose partial remains were found near Fort Bragg, N.C. on May 29, 2020. Roman-Martinez’s case remains unsolved.
  • Beginning Jan. 1, the VA is extending its VALife veterans life insurance program to millions of veterans. Eligible applicants are guaranteed coverage.

  • Veterans who filed a lawsuit against the VA last week for allegedly misusing land belonging to the West Los Angeles VA Campus are demanding that the VA build 1,200 permanent homes and 2,500 apartments on the land for homeless and at-risk veterans.

  • A bill has been introduced in the U.S. House that would designate a new Department of Veterans Affairs outpatient clinic in French Camp, Calif., as the Richard A. Pittman VA Clinic.
